Barbara has an MSW and worked as a psychiatric social worker for over a decade. In 1981 she took on a new challenge. What she intended as a temporary side-track became a lifelong commitment. She joined her husband, Jerry Gould, who was in the process of founding a marketing company, Conrad Direct, in the basement of their small home. Their goal was to provide direct marketers with personalized, innovative list brokerage and management services.
In the years that followed, the company has flourished and expanded in new directions. Barbara has been active in the strategic development of the company with special responsibility for financial management. But her most important contribution has been her part in the selection of excellent staff and the creation of a company culture which promotes personal growth, dedication and teamwork. That environment has nurtured the development of the excellent management group that now leads Conrad.
